Before Kurtis Blow swept the nation in 1980 with “The Breaks”, he released Christmas Rappin’. The track begins with a vocal sample from “The Night Before Christmas” before the classic disco/hip hop sound drops. The bassline is essentially Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust,” which is definitely a good thing.

Ludacris has recently released his own holiday-inspired track. To go along with the promotion of Fred Claus, the film in which Luda plays an angry elf, the track features a lot of shout outs to the film. The song contains a sample of “Here Comes Santa Claus” and will definitely be perfect for your holiday mixes. Did anyone catch the xmas episode of 30 Rock? It was a nice coincidence that their xmas party was called Ludacrismas.  Maybe it’s some sort of twisted advertising that is going on though.  And if you didn’t notice, Luda is the elf that is about 11 o’ clock to Vince Vaughn’s head in the picture above.
